The seven universal laws are the hermetic principles described in The Kybalion, a nineteenth-century document summarizing the teachings of hermetic philosophy. Its authorship is attributed to an anonymous group calling themselves the Three Initiates, though the foundations of hermeticism go back to Hermes Trismegistus.
In the Holographic Code System these laws are not studied as historical curiosity, but as descriptions of how the mind works. Here are all seven, read through that lens.
1. Mentalism
All in the Universe is mind. Anything, before being created, is first an idea within the universal mind or pure Consciousness. That Consciousness is the source of everything: of each person, of all experience, of all creative potential.
2. Correspondence
As within, so without. Also called the law of the mirror. What you observe as "reality" is the film created in your earliest years and which you now project. In this law we discover that everything your senses perceive is already in your subconscious mind.
3. Vibration
Nothing rests. Everything is in constant motion. The different vibrations of mind, energy and matter have varying frequencies according to the ideas held in Consciousness. The only constant is change.
4. Polarity
Everything has two poles. One exists because the other exists, and each gives the other meaning: feminine and masculine energy, inside and outside, heat and cold, light and darkness. This law applies to relationships, health, finances and spiritual life, and it is what provides balance.
5. Rhythm
Everything flows out and in. Everything has periods of advance and retreat, rises and falls, moves like a pendulum. The measure of the swing to one side is the measure of the swing to the other. In the System, this law relates directly to the repetition of the patterns of your film: this is why the same themes return again and again.
6. Cause and effect
Every cause has its effect. Even when we cannot see the clear origin of a situation — the from where — because its roots run deep in the subconscious, everything that happens to us originates in that film. If we want to be rid of the effect, we must act on the cause.
7. Gender
Everything has its masculine and feminine principle. These principles are present in all manifestations of life. It is equivalent to yin and yang in Taoism, or to shakti and purusha in Hindu doctrines. Integrating the qualities of both energies is what allows us to live in harmony.
Why they matter in a process of self-knowledge
Read together, these seven laws describe something quite concrete: that your experience has structure, that this structure repeats with its own rhythm, and that the point of intervention is not outside but at the cause — in the information from which you are interpreting.
Understanding this changes nothing on its own. What changes things is noticing in the moment the pattern is occurring.
